Prescott

Image of Thumb ButtePrescott was once Arizona's territorial capital and today, it is filled with the richness of Arizona's history. More than 500 buildings are on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. Throughout the town, one can trace Arizona history through the eyes of Native Americans, old-fashioned cowboys, gunslingers and settlers. Many of the old buildings are thought to be haunted where both visitors and residents can pull up a chair at a bar where Doc Holiday or Wyatt Earp shared a drink.

Nestled in the beautiful ponderosa pine forests of the Prescott National Forest area, active outdoor enthusiasts can find a myriad of recreational activities to keep busy. The surrounding mountains provide hiking and biking areas as well as rappelling opportunities. Five crystal clear lakes provide a great getaway for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Golfers will enjoy the six golf courses located in and around Prescott where the greens are reasonable and the backdrops are magnificent.

Not to be outdone by the beauty of the outdoors, Prescott offers many different venues for outstanding entertainment.Watson Lake in PrescottYavapai College's Performance Hall offers year-round entertainment while the Prescott Fine Arts Association and other smaller theaters provide artistic performances for a refined audience. Art galleries help to promote local artists as well as visiting artists who thrive on the creative atmosphere of Prescott. Gateway Mall offers a big town shopping experience for the Central Arizona region.

Prescott, only 90 minutes north of Phoenix, offers all the amenities one would find in a larger town without the downside of city living. Sound great? Give us a call and arrange tour of the Prescott Campus today and get a taste of western hospitality!
